What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Operations - Women's Basketball position at East Carolina University?
Reporting to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, the individual serving in this position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Serve as liaison with academic services. Track academic progress of student-athletes.
- Assist coaching staff with the completion of NCAA compliance logs.
- Coordinate team travel arrangements and pre/post-game meals.
- Assist with the ordering and inventory control of team equipment.
- Coordinate complimentary ticket requests and distribution for games in conjunction with the coaching staff and event services.
- Assist with the production of basketball newsletter.
- Coordinate and assist with the team’s involvement in community activities & promotions.
- Liaison with the athletic department marketing staff for all game activities.
- Assign duties and supervise managers in organizing practice setup and game setup.
- Assist all incoming student-athletes with financial aid, housing, admissions, orientation, etc.
- Assist coaching staff with other projects, as needed.
- Build quality relationships and work collaboratively and professionally with Pirate Club, athletics, and University staff, students, business vendors and all donors and stakeholders.
- Abide by all written policies and procedures of ECU, the Department of Athletics, The Educational Foundation (Pirate Club), the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and all applicable conferences or associations.
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
- Nights, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and travel are required in the performance of duties
Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree required.
Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions and conferred by the time of hire.

Master’s degree preferred.
