Job Title: Academic Advisor
Department: Academic Success Center
Reports To: Director of the Academic Success Center
FSLA: Non-Exempt
Salary: $39,000 plus benefits (OTRS employer and employee portions paid for by ECU and $792 monthly defined benefit applied to health insurance)
The Academic Advisor is located in the Academic Success Center and is responsible for reviewing transfer work, providing academic advice, and assisting incoming students with enrollment for the current semester. Academic Success Center advisors are required to maintain an understanding of ECU General Education courses, degree programs and policies.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Experience working with students preferred.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

- Enroll students in classes and meet with students to offer academic support
- Create advising files for each student assigned
- Work with other ECU departments (athletics, band, Honors, etc.,) to ensure smooth enrollment processes and promote department services
- Occasionally proctor exams and routinely review exam scores with students
- Contribute to department work (such as faculty advisor training and retention alerts)
- Occasional evenings and weekends required for enrollment events
