What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Aid Receptionist position at East Central University?
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for responding to the needs of students, the general public, and staff by providing general information concerning federal, state, and institutional aid programs. He/she will provide specific information to prospective and returning students regarding their aid application and will evaluate and distribute financial aid applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for overseeing outer office area to include student workers
Provides general information to prospective and returning students regarding the financial aid application process and federal, state, and institutional guidelines
Responsible for receiving financial aid forms, evaluating them for completeness, entering the data into the financial aid management system, and routing the forms to the counselor or director as appropriate
Responsible for attending training and maintaining current knowledge of federal, state, and institutional guidelines and procedures
Generates letters to students concerning documents needed for the financial aid process
Hires, trains, and supervises student workers to assist with data entry, document tracking, the
creation and maintenance of financial aid files, and the generation and mailing of award notices and other communications to students
Responsible for retrieving, opening, processing, data entering, and routing incoming mail
Responsible for sending outgoing mail
Responsible for maintaining office calendars and scheduling appointments for counselors and the director
Responsible for monitoring office supplies and ordering as needed
Completes purchase orders and requisitions
Manages the financial aid office budget and orders supplies and equipment as needed
Completes the monthly ProCard statement
