Summary:
The Kitchen Packaging Associate is responsible for packaging a variety of edibles, inspecting finished products, and assisting with other kitchen responsibilities. Kitchen Packaging Associates are responsible for operating within the Maine Adult Use program guidelines per East Coast Cannabis’ best practices
Responsibilities:
Packaging of a variety of edibles, such as but not limited to-
Butter Peaks
Taffy
Hard Candies
Gummies
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
Maintain steady packaging rates to meet our weekly demands.
Acute attention to detail.
Load and unload items from machines, carts, and dollies.
Properly and safely operate heat sealing equipment
Assistant with unloading and organizing packaging and manufacturing supplies.
Assist with kitchen cleaning responsibilities.
Must work well in a group and independently; demonstrate self-motivation and initiative.
Exhibit competency in basic organizational skills and communication.
Exhibit personal hygiene and follow the health guidelines set forth by the company.
Ability to follow instructions and follow through with the specific task.
All other tasks East Coast Cannabis needs to be successful.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to articulate product specifications.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strict accuracy on compliance tasks.
Basic math skills required
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Must obtain and maintain the Maine Office of Cannabis Policy Individual Identification Card (IIC).
Must wear lanyard with IIC card at all times on worksites.
Work Environment:
Indoor, climate-controlled kitchen setting.
Must wear required PPE.
2nd shift Monday-Friday, 11:30am to 8:00PM.
Saturday shifts occasionally required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for long shifts.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
Must be able to work comfortably in tight spaces with respect to co-workers comfort zones at times.
Positive attitude toward work and co-workers.
Travel Requirements:
No travel requirements unless requested to meet at the corporate office or cover a shift at other kitchens.
Occasional use of company van to transport supplies/products.
Required Education/Experience:
High school diploma/GED
A minimum of 2 years in a kitchen setting preferred.
Experience in production or manufacturing is preferred.
Cannabis industry experience preferred.
Pay range: $17 per hour
Required skills
- Must be able to adapt quickly to changes in policy, procedure and technique
- Employee must exhibit personal hygiene and follow the health guidelines set forth by the company and the state while processing patient medicine
- Ability to listen well and communicate effectively with various audiences, especially with the direct supervisors and co-workers
- Ability to perform a monotonous task with great efficiency over 8-hour work periods without losing quality
- Must work well in a group and independently; demonstrate self-motivation and initiative
- Must pass any and all required pre-employment screenings
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
- Must possess valid driver’s license or state ID card
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
- High School Education or GED required
