Major Areas of Focus
Field Supervisors (FS) support Crew Leaders and Landscape Technicians in all matters related to production, fleet, quality control, and safety initiatives. They are tasked with assisting the operations management team with efficient completion of production safely. They are hands-on and work side by side with the front line. This position reports to a Project Manager. In rare circumstances, they may report directly to an Operations Manager. The FS supports front-line employees, front-line employees DO NOT report to a FS.
Train Crew Leaders in all matters related to job sequencing and productivityTransfer fleet and equipment to and from the Service Center and Satellite locationsOrganize, pickup, and deliver materials to Crew Leaders as neededPerform quality control site inspectionsSupport Project Managers in all aspects of operations and job fulfillment
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, other duties may also be assigned :
Client Management
- Professionally represents East Coast Facilities, Inc. always
- Able to respond properly to the client and follow up to make sure their needs have been completed to their satisfaction
- Able to recognize when they do not have the answer for the client and let them know they will find out or get the Project Manager involved
- Keeps the Project Manager aware of all client concerns and communication on the job site
- Maintains a positive, responsive, and flexible attitude to all clients
- Inspects site and advises Project Manager of potential liabilities
Crew Supervision
Ensures that the Crew Leaders meet projected man-hour and materials budgets on assigned work ticketsAssists with dispatchingEnsures all crews are fully equipped and properly fueledAble to assign tasks to crew members (if applicable) and follow up to make sure that work was completed properlyEnsures that all crew members (if applicable) report to work on time and follow all company rules and procedures.Takes appropriate disciplinary actions as necessary and involves the Project Manager when necessaryCrew Training
Ensures crew members are trained in company safety policiesAble to certify crews in the job tasks assigned to the Crew LeaderTrains crew members (if applicable) to do the job effectively and efficientlyAble to cross-train Crew Leaders in the performance of the Field Supervisor's role for future growthCan effectively communicate in English and / or Spanish what is to be learnedPerformance Reviews
Able to evaluate the performance of the crewAble to assist the Project Manager in a performance review for crew members and Crew LeadersAble to monitor goals based on the evaluation processSafety Management
