Are you a skilled designer with CAD proficiency and a passion for fireplaces and outdoor living spaces? East Coast Fireplace (ECF) is looking for a polished, detail-oriented Design Specialist to serve as the face of our company—both in our showroom and beyond. This role is about more than just sales—it’s about building trust, ensuring clients and industry partners are fully informed, and fostering long-term relationships through clarity, integrity, and expertise.
You’ll be working closely with homeowners, builders, and industry professionals to guide them through every step of the design process, ensuring no surprises, no false expectations—just clear, honest, and expertly executed solutions. You’ll also attend trade shows and conventions, strengthening B2B relationships and representing ECF at the highest level of professionalism both in the showroom and abroad.
What You’ll Do:
- Use CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Chief Architect, or similar) to create accurate and visually compelling fireplace and outdoor kitchen designs.
- Provide clear, empathetic guidance to clients, ensuring they fully understand their options before making decisions.
- Work closely with coworkers, installers, and project managers to bring designs to life seamlessly.
- Represent ECF at trade shows, conventions, and networking events, developing strong B2B partnerships with builders, contractors, and industry professionals.
- Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, ensuring a polished and respectful presence as the face of ECF.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, product innovations, and technical requirements to provide expert-level advice.
- Develop long-term client and business relationships, always prioritizing transparency and trust.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proficiency in CAD is required—this is a core part of the role.
- Experience in fireplace design, interior design, architectural drafting, or outdoor kitchen planning is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and honestly explain design and technical concepts to both homeowners and industry professionals.
- A polished, professional demeanor—you represent ECF at all times, in the showroom and at industry events.
- A collaborative, team-oriented mindset, working closely with coworkers, installers, and business partners to ensure smooth project execution.
- The ability to balance aesthetic creativity with practical, functional considerations, ensuring designs are both beautiful and feasible.
Certification Requirement:
To ensure the highest level of expertise, all Design Specialists must obtain the NFI Design Specialist Certification within a structured timeframe after hiring. While the expectation is clear, we also provide support and flexibility to ensure success in mastering the material.
