POSITION SUMMARY
As a Golf Shop Assistant, you will provide excellent customer service to guests at the golf course. Furthermore, you will be responsible for taking reservations, renting out golf carts, collecting greens fees, selling shop merchandise, and assisting in coordinating special events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist in the daily operation of the pro shop; assist with special events, tournaments and marshaling golf course play when necessary
- Assist customers by checking them in for their round of golf, ringing up sales/handling returns
- Assist with monthly or quarterly inventory checks
- Answer telephones and book tee times
- Perform all necessary opening and closing processes and procedures
- Maintain good public relations and ensure that a friendly, cordial atmosphere is maintained at all times while serving the public.
- Advertise and promote the golf course
- Enforce and interpret all USGA rules and regulations and local regulations of the City; monitor course play and conduct of players
- Maintain adequate income and participation records on a daily basis
- Coordinate with maintenance section regarding daily course operation in relation to inclement weather, scheduled repairs, and amount of play, changes in tee sheets, etc.
- Maintain pro shop inventory and ensure overall cleanliness and appearance
- Monitor/maintain the public areas in and around the golf shop, including restrooms, trash receptacles, etc.
- Training and assistance in on boarding of new employees
OTHER FUNCTIONS
The Golf Shop Assistant may also:
- Preform other duties as required by management
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Accurately handle, record, and prepare deposit of money collected
- Need flexibility with schedule including weekends and holidays
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Education/Credentials:
- Prior Golf Shop Assistant Experience Preferred
Experience:
- Experience with IBS Systems and Tee Sheets preferred
- Experience operating computer equipment

WORK ENVIRONMENT
