What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver position at East Coast Metal Distributors?
Duties and Responsibilities:
. Represents East Coast Metal Distributors by wearing clean, company provided uniform.
. Implements timely deliveries, greets customers, verifies items with proper initialing and dating, and helps unload trucks. Notifies Warehouse Manager of any discrepancies before leaving place of delivery.
. Leaves copies of sales orders with customers.
. Thanks customers for their orders.
. Maintains - inside and out - a clean, safe delivery vehicle.
. Sweeps vehicle daily, removes trash from cab daily, wipes down inside of vehicle weekly
. Immediately reports any personal injury or vehicle accident to Warehouse Manager.
. Notifies Warehouse Manager and Branch Operations Manager of any needed service, repairs or unsafe conditions observed concerning delivery vehicle, material handling equipment or East Coast Metal Distributors properties.
. Completes daily drivers log and returns fuel receipts and other reports to Warehouse Manager daily.
. Participates in organizing delivery schedules, assists in processing sales orders and loading products for delivery.
. Becomes proficient and certified in Fork Truck Safety and Operations.
. Uses all material handling equipment safely and correctly.
. Assist in all warehouse operations as needed.
. Completes other duties assigned by Warehouse Managers or Branch Operations Managers.
Special Requirements: Willing to work overtime, holidays and weekends as requested by the Branch Operations Manager.
