Job Title:
Account Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain assigned customer accounts, actively seek new accounts, and provide information to customers to assist with purchasing decisions for our products and services.
- Order Follow-up and Obtaining New Orders: Travel to customer locations to follow up on orders, answer questions, and obtain new orders.
- Communication and Customer Service: Effectively communicate with potential and current customers using superior communication skills and customer relation skills.
- Pricing and Collections: Enter, analyze, and monitor customer pricing letters for assigned accounts, collect receivables from assigned accounts.
- Vendor Coordination and Delivery: Communicate with Branch Manager concerning vendor delivery dates, special orders, and non-stock items.
- Customer Delivery Coordination: Help coordinate customer deliveries requiring special attention.
- Sales Literature and Administrative Tasks: Order sales literature for branch, perform and complete other related duties assigned by Region General Manager or requested by the Branch Manager.
Language Skills:
The ideal candidate must be able to read and comprehend a variety of informational documentation, accounting methods, procedures, and correspondence. They should also have the ability to write correspondence with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, as well as communicate effectively in written and verbal forms.
Numerical Aptitude:
The candidate must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, percentages, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
The ideal candidate requires the ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out general written or oral instructions, deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations, and demonstrate good analytical and quantitative skills.
Manual Dexterity:
The candidate must have average levels of eye/hand/foot coordination and be able to use a variety of office machines and equipment.
Physical Demands:
The job requires regular and prolonged standing and/or walking, stopping, bending, and climbing. The candidate must be physically able to operate computers, calculators, copy machines, facsimile machines, and other general office equipment. Specific visual abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and color vision for extensive reading and interpretation of graphs, charts, and/or spreadsheets.
Working Conditions and Hazards:
The work is regularly performed in an office setting but may involve some work conducted outside or at customer offices or work sites with exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, and airborne particles. There is a limited risk of exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold or heat, and loud noises.
