Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Structural Steel Shop Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the fabrication of structural steel components. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are looking to gain experience in the steel industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation and cleaning of materials for steel fabrication.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment within the shop.
- Operate various hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Support welders, fabricators, and machine operators during the production process.
- Move materials and finished products to designated areas within the shop or yard.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Perform general labor tasks as needed in the shop and on-site.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a construction, steel, or fabrication environment is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy materials.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and safety-conscious mindset.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team.
- Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Proficient in operating Forklift is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for extended periods.
- Able to work with materials and machinery, following all safety protocols.
