Job Overview:
Central New Jersey Distributor is seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Credit Manager to join our team in Hightstown, NJ. This on-site role will play a critical part in managing the credit and collections process, ensuring timely payments, and fostering strong relationships with customers and internal teams. Key Responsibilities:
· Monitor and manage assigned customer accounts to ensure timely payments and adherence to credit terms.
· Review delinquent accounts daily and initiate collection efforts via phone, email, or other channels based on assigned work queues.
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to facilitate efficient collections and resolve payment disputes.
· Collaborate with sales and sales support teams to provide regular updates on customer account statuses and credit-related issues.
· Process credit card payments and authorize the release of customer orders as required.
· Escalate complex collections challenges to the Credit Manager to minimize financial losses and ensure resolution.
· Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, discrepancies, adjustments, and short payments related to accounts receivable.
· Prepare and maintain detailed reports, including account reconciliations and collections status updates, for assigned accounts.
· Create and update spreadsheets to support tracking and reporting initiatives.
· Assist with basic accounting tasks and ad-hoc reporting projects as directed by management.
Qualifications:
· 3 years of experience in business-to-business collections preferred.
· Experience with ERP systems.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high comfort level interacting with customers.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research abilities.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
· Self-starter with strong organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills.
· Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
· Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, with advanced knowledge of Excel.
· High school diploma required; college degree or college credits in accounting preferred.
