Medical Collections/AR Specialist for Surgery Center

East Coast Surgery Center is a growing, state-of-the-art, Ambulatory Surgery Center and we are looking to expand our business office by adding a highly motivated, experienced Medical Collections/AR Specialist.

Our Medical Collections/AR Specialist will be responsible for collecting accurate payments and finding resolutions to outstanding client Payor account balances.

The candidate will have extensive knowledge and understanding of claims reimbursement and collection efforts for Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid, Workers Comp, Commercial plans and patients.

The candidate must also have experience with negotiating repayment as well as an understanding and working knowledge of the appeals and denials process with health insurance carriers. Individual must be organized and possess excellent communication skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Other responsibilities/duties:

Maintains a working knowledge and understanding of CPT and ICD-10 codes

Utilizes the Medicare Direct Data Entry system to identify and resolve any claims that have been Returned to Provider

Making necessary corrections to account

Entering EOB correspondence from insurance companies

Entering and following up with insurance companies request for medical records

Providing follow up on accounts until they are resolved

Reviewing and processing insurance requests for refunds

Coding issues are researched for correct reimbursement according to rules and regulations

Payments are researched as needed to insure compliance with contract terms

Performing follow up with insurance companies on unpaid insurance accounts identified through aging reports

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.50 per hour
