What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Daycare Assistant Teacher position at East End Child Development Center?
Job Summary: As an Assistant Caregiver, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and loving environment for children while incorporating faith-based principles into daily activities and routines. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the Primary Caregiver in supervising and engaging with the children promoting their physical, emotional, and spiritual development.

1. Assist in maintaining a safe and clean daycare environment in accordance with state regulations and faith-based principles.
2. Support the Primary Caregiver in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and lessons that align with our faith-based curriculum.
3. Support the Primary Caregiver in planning and implementing age-appropriate educational activities to ensure the children are meeting/exceeding child development and educational milestones.
4. Provide individualized care and attention to each child’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
5. Foster a loving and inclusive atmosphere where children feel valued and respected.
6. Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary restrictions and preferences are followed.
7. Help children with personal hygiene routines, such as diaper changes and potty training.
8. Monitor and document children’s daily activities and developmental milestones.
9. Assist in organizing and participating in faith-based activities, including prayer, storytelling, and teaching moral values.
10. Collaborate with the Primary Caregiver to create a weekly schedule and ensure the smooth flow of activities.
11. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on their child’s progress and well-being.
12. Maintain confidentiality and uphold the daycare’s faith-based principles and values at all times.
13. Assist in emergency procedures and ensure the safety of children in case of unforeseen situations.
14. Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities as required.
15. Assist the Primary Caregiver in taking daily attendance via Procare and maintaining Procare.
16. Assist the Primary Caregiver in ensuring parents/guardians swipe daily and sign their child in and out.
17. Professional Development:
a. Maintains documentation of at least two college credits or 30-clock hours of job-related professional development, per PDL certification.
i. No more than six-hours of informal professional development per PDL certification may be counted in total hours.
b. Become CPR and First Certified.
c. Obtain Infant Safe Sleep Training.

· High school diploma or equivalent; childcare certification or relevant coursework preferred.
· Previous experience in childcare or daycare settings is a plus.
· Strong understanding and commitment to faith-based principles and values.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for children.
· Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
· Basic knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
· CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
· Clear criminal background check and child abuse clearance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $8.50 - $10.50 per hour
