Job Title: Day Habilitation Manager of Creative Arts Program
Reports To: Associate Director of Day Services
Hours: Monday- Friday, Office Hours *Some flexibility required
Salary: $64,480/year
Education: Bachelor’s degree in art education, Therapeutic Recreation, Special Education, or a related field preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development: Design and implement engaging creative arts programs that cater to the interests and abilities of participants, including visual arts, music, drama, and dance. Create and implement diverse creative arts programming that aligns with the goals of day habilitation and meets the interests and abilities of participants.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of creative arts instructors and support staff, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment. Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise staff and volunteers, ensuring they are equipped to support participants in creative activities.
- Individualized Support: Foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages participation, creativity, and self-expression among individuals. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop personalized plans that integrate creative arts into participants’ day habilitation goals.
- Budget Management: Oversee the program budget, including supplies, equipment, and staff resources, ensuring financial accountability and sustainability. Budget Oversight: Manage the program budget, ensuring the efficient use of resources and exploring additional funding opportunities when needed.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Assess program effectiveness through participant feedback, assessments, and outcomes, making necessary adjustments to enhance the program.
- Community Outreach: Build partnerships with local artists, organizations, and volunteers to enhance program offerings and promote community involvement and inclusivity. Develop strategies to promote the program, increasing visibility and participant enrollment.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of program activities, participant progress, and financial documentation; prepare regular reports for stakeholders and funding agencies.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to organizational policies, state regulations, and best practices in program delivery, including maintaining accurate records and reports.

- Valid New York State Driver’s License and reliable transportation required.
- Strong background in one or more creative arts disciplines.
- Proven leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with various stakeholders.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly in a day habilitation or educational setting.
- Strong background in arts programming and creative education methodologies.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive environment that encourages creativity.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and best practices in supporting individuals with disabilities.

Language Skills: Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, coworkers, and the general public. Polished and professional interpersonal skills.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have Proficiency in MS Office.
