Hospice Field Registered Nurse (RN) - Part Time
East End Hospice is currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Part-Time opportunity providing high quality hospice nursing services to patients and their families at home and in other care settings in the community.
Responsibilities:
- Teach, supervise, and counsel the patient and family regarding care and other issues related to the patient illness, including pain and symptom management.
- Provide anticipatory guidance to patients/families to assist them in preparing for and coping with the events as they occur throughout the disease process.
- Implement the nursing portion of the plan of care in coordination with the other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications:
- Ability to relate well to terminally ill patients and their families.
- Ability to assess patient/family needs and to be sensitive to those needs.
- Willingness to function as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
- Be familiar with the hospice concept and related nursing issues.
Requirements:
- A registered professional nurse from an accredited nursing program. Currently licensed to practice nursing in New York State.
- 2 years of RN experience (Hospice, Med-Surg, Homecare experience) required.
- BSN preferred.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records a plus.
Valid New York State driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance required for all positions. East End Hospice offers competitive salary and supportive working environment.

Schedule:
3 days/27 hours a week plus overnight call
Rotating schedule, 1-2 weekends per month
Experience:
- Hospice, Med-Surg, or Homecare: 2 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- New York State Professional Nurse License (Required)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $80.00 - $85.00 per hour
