GENERAL SUMMARY

The Floor Operator assists in the safe and efficient operation of the power plant and the supporting equipment and systems. The Floor Operator carries out all routine water/fuel chemistry analyses, inspects and monitors operating components, and reports plant status.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
  • Work as assigned by the Control Room Operator (CRO), Plant/Mechanical Manager, and others as necessary by the company.
  • Assist with operations of all equipment and monitor operational parameters, ensuring reliably and continuous operability of equipment.
  • Operate and maintain a wide variety of power plant equipment.
  • Maintain operation of the chemical pumping system, ensuring optimal chemistry control and equipment reliability.
  • Assist with maintenance activities, including mechanical work, instrumentation, and electrical repair.
  • Perform or assist with preventive maintenance actions.
  • Perform or assist with planned maintenance and routine repairs to damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Workaround and repair rotating equipment, chemical systems, and water processing equipment.
  • Perform or assist with chemical/fuel handling (loading and unloading material).
  • Perform emergency operations and maintenance for production and safeguard facility equipment.
  • Obtain direction from other team members as deemed necessary.
  • Actively support the Maintenance Team in executing maintenance plans by providing support (Lockout/Tagout), equipment identification, troubleshooting, work request preparation, or other areas.
  • Fully support and participate in East Energy Safety and Regulatory Compliance Programs
  • Complete other tasks as requested

Additionally, employees must adhere to all safety warnings and posted safety signs whenever on company property. Random drug and alcohol testing is a requirement of employment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical requirements include standing on feet for extended periods, stair and ladder climbing, and routinely lifting 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn to perform some duties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, masks, ear protection, gloves.

The position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend

and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload, and plant conditions. "On-call" status will periodically be required.

All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening, and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment
  • Experience working with high-pressure turbines and gas-fired boilers and familiarity with associated equipment is desired.
  • Strong aptitude in math, mechanical/electrical, and chemical handling requirements is required.
  • Ability to gain theoretical and practical knowledge of boiler/ turbine operations, industrial safety, hazardous waste management, and inspection/recording of plant parameters is highly desirable.
  • Experience with piping and instrument schematics and process controls desirable but not required.
  • Mechanical, instrumentation and electrical equipment knowledge is desired but not required.
  • Valid driver's license required

East Energy will provide paid, on-the-job training for this position. Those meeting the above descriptions will be considered highly qualified candidates. Successful candidates will be promoted to Floor Operator after meeting requirements and a probationary period.


DuPont shift schedule is a pattern in which four teams rotate between day and night shifts in a 4-week cycle to provide 24-hour shift coverage. Each team does a 12-hour shift and works an equal number of day and night shifts during the 28-day cycle.
