Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and unannounced inspections of commercial and residential properties to ensure compliance with fire codes and regulations.
- Investigate complaints and reports of potential fire hazards and take corrective action as necessary.
- Enforce laws, ordinances, and regulations related to fire safety and provide education to property owners and the general public on fire prevention and safety measures.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of inspections and enforcement activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of experience in building inspection, fire suppression, or a related field preferred.
- International Fire Code Inspector I certification within 18 months of hire date.
- Class C driver's license required.
