Job Description
The Fire Prevention Specialist will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and well-being of our community by ensuring that all buildings and properties meet fire code requirements. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and accurate inspections of buildings and properties to identify potential fire hazards and non-compliance with fire codes and regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies to educate property owners and the general public on fire safety and prevention.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure consistent enforcement of fire codes and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, enforcement activities, and educational programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (fire science, building inspection, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of experience in building inspection, fire suppression, or a related field.
- International Fire Code Inspector I certification.
