Job Summary
The Admissions Assistant supports the Office of Admissions with clerical functions, general customer service, and special projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform general clerical duties, including but not limited to on-campus deliveries, photocopying, filing, computer work, typing, data entry, answering the telephone, directing calls, and mail pick-up and dissemination.
- Identifying customers' needs, clarifying information, researching every issue, and providing solutions.
- Transferring calls to the appropriate department.
- Recognizing ongoing customer call trends, acting on them, and communicating the situation to management.
- Some extended work hours may be required throughout a semester.
- Receiving and making calls to customers and answering questions or addressing any concerns they may have.
- Conduct campus tours for prospective students and visitors.
- Assist with campus events coordination before during, and after events. Place outbound calls to potential and returning students.
- Maintain solid customer relations by handling questions and concerns with speed and professionalism.
- Assist with overflow work from full-time Admissions staff.
- Perform specialized projects as assigned.
- Listening to prospective student needs or issued and providing helpful solutions to their problems.
- Dealing with complaints or questions.
- Tracking student statuses to determine the next best steps in the admissions process.
- Following call center "scripts" when handling different topics.
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of departmental needs.
- Must be enrolled at EGSC for a minimum of 6 credit hours, maintaining SAP and in good academic standing.
- Must be Federal Work Study eligible.
- Some knowledge of customer service.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position.
