What are the responsibilities and job description for the 4th Grade Teaching Position position at East Gibson School Corporation?
The 4th Grade Teacher will be responsible for providing an engaging, well-organized, and challenging learning environment for students in the fourth grade. The teacher will support students in academic growth, social development, and overall well-being while fostering a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom atmosphere.
Instructional Planning and Delivery:- Design, implement, and evaluate engaging and effective lessons in subjects such as Math, Reading, Writing, Social Studies, and Science, aligned with grade-level standards and curriculum.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to address different learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
- Integrate technology into lessons to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Classroom Management:
- Create and maintain a positive, respectful, and well-structured classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Establish clear behavioral expectations and manage student conduct in accordance with school policies.
- Foster teamwork, collaboration, and positive relationships among students.
- Student Assessment and Development:
- Regularly assess student performance using a variety of formal and informal assessment tools (e.g., quizzes, tests, projects, observations).
- Provide constructive feedback on assignments and assessments.
- Identify individual student needs and provide interventions or modifications as necessary to ensure student success.
- Communication:
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Provide regular updates to parents on student progress, achievements, and any concerns via emails, conferences, and report cards.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events.
- Professional Development:
- Continuously seek out professional development opportunities to improve teaching practices and stay current with educational best practices.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to share strategies, resources, and insights for improving student learning.
- Administrative Duties:
- Prepare lesson plans, reports, and documentation as required by school policies.
- Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Elementary Education and a valid Indiana Teaching License.
