High School Counselor and/or Social Worker Position, 9th – 12th grades

Job Summary:

Middle Park High School is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate Counselor/Social Worker with strong interpersonal skills to join our team.  The ideal candidate will enjoy working individually and in groups with all types of teenagers, both in therapeutic and in classroom settings, and will excel in connecting families with community resources.  They will also help provide a comprehensive guidance and counseling program designed to address the social, emotional, educational and occupational needs of all students.

Qualifications:

Hold or be eligible to hold a Colorado Professional Special Services License with School Counseling endorsement or Social Work endorsement or be licensed by the State Board of Examiners. Effective communication and interpersonal skills as well as effective time management and organizational skills are necessary.

Experience:

• Previous experience in an education setting desirable

• Knowledgeable about the developmental needs of students

• Effective written and oral communication skills

• Demonstrated understanding and empathy for the needs of students and families

• Ability and desire to work as a team member

• Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required

• Effective time management and organization skills

• Serve as a model for the district’s mission, vision and strategic plan

Working Environment:

Middle Park High School is located in Granby, Colorado, 90 miles NW of Denver and 20 miles from the Winter Park Ski area. School is in session Monday – Thursday from 8 a.m. – 4:18 p.m. following an alternating block schedule.  MPHS has approximately 400 students in grades 9-12 and serves the communities of Winter Park, Fraser, Tabernash, Granby, Grand Lake, Hot Sulphur Springs, and beyond.
