Middle Park High School is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Head Football Coach to lead the revitalization of our football program. Responsibilities:
Program Development and Leadership:
Develop and implement a comprehensive football program that emphasizes fundamental skills, strategic game planning, and player development at all levels (varsity, junior varsity, freshman).
Establish and maintain a positive and disciplined team culture that promotes respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Develop and execute a long-term plan for program growth and sustainability, including player recruitment and retention.
Oversee all aspects of the football program, including practice organization, game preparation, and player evaluation.
Player Development:
Provide effective coaching and instruction to enhance players' physical and mental skills.
Implement a strength and conditioning program designed to improve player performance and reduce injuries.
Monitor players' academic progress and provide support to ensure academic eligibility.
Foster a positive and supportive environment that encourages players to reach their full potential.
Team Management:
Assist in the recruitment, hiring and mentoring assistant coaches, fostering a collaborative and cohesive coaching staff.
Manage team budgets.
Develop and maintain effective communication with players, parents, school administration, and the community.
Organize and conduct team meetings, practices, and games.
Ensure all players and coaches are following all school, district, and state athletic association rules and regulations.
Community Engagement:
Build positive relationships with the community, alumni, and booster club.
Organize and participate in community outreach events and fundraising activities.
Promote the football program and school spirit throughout the community.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate records of player eligibility, attendance, and performance.
Maintain records for equipment, pads and helmets.
Submit required reports and documentation to the Athletic Director and school administration.
Attend all required meetings and professional development workshops.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a football coach at the high school level or beyond.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful football programs.
Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, strategies, and techniques.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
Valid coaching certification and CPR/First Aid certification.
Background check clearance.
Experience in rebuilding a program is highly desired.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
