East Greenwich Public Schools is accepting applications for RIDE Certified Substitute Teachers.
Substitute teachers will provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, social, and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student.
Must have at least one of the following required RIDE Certifications :
Elementary Education Teacher, Grades 1-6
Elementary/Middle Special Education Teacher, Grades K-8
All Grades Special Education - Severe Intellectual Disability Teacher
Middle/Secondary Special Education Teacher, Grades 7-12
Middle Grades English Teacher, Grades 5-8 - Secondary Extension
Secondary Grades English Teacher, Grades 7-12
Reading Specialist/Consultant
Early Childhood Education Teacher, Grades PK-2
Secondary Grades Mathematics Teacher, Grades 7-12
All Grades Library Media Teacher, Grades PK-12
Requirements:
Selected candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check. Selected candidates cannot begin work until passing their background check and obtaining a TB test.
Bachelor's degree or higher.
1. Experience working with children.
2. Enjoys working with children.
3. Maintain the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which you are assigned.
4. Follow the lesson plans provided by the absent teacher.
7. Able to communicate to administration and others to gain assistance or guidance when needed.
8. Flexibility.
9. Must be able to establish a good rapport with students.
10. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
11. Must be organized, take direction.
12. Punctuality is critical and mandatory for this position.
13. Must be reliable.
14. Clear communicator. Good written and verbal communication skills.
15. Perform any other related duties as assigned.
