About the Position:
The East Greenwich Township Board of Education is seeking a highly skilled and reliable individual to fill the role of Interim Night Custodian. This position plays a vital part in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our schools and grounds.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for ensuring the building is secure and clean at the beginning and end of each shift.
- You will maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the building, including but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, buffing, stripping, and waxing floors, as well as cleaning rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and blinds.
- You will also be responsible for washing walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, and sills, removing graffiti, and replacing light bulbs.
- In addition, you will assist with receiving deliveries, unloading trucks, and storing supplies, as well as delivering supplies and materials to classrooms, bathrooms, and other areas of the building.
- You will be responsible for performing general cleaning and repair work, particularly during school vacations.
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid New Jersey driver's license.
- Ability to follow oral or written work orders from supervisor.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Working Conditions:
- Works in standard office and school building environments.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, solvents, and contaminated trash, grasses, pollens, etc.
