Town of East Hampton Department of Human Services -Homemaker: $49,982.82 annually for a 40-hour work week.
Homemakers perform a variety of tasks to assist and act on behalf of the clients. These tasks depend on the needs of the client and are listed in their care plan.
Care plans may include the following:
- Performs household chores
- Change and make bed
- Dust (surfaces only) and vacuum
- Clean bathrooms
- Wash dishes, wipe counter tops, mop kitchen floor
- Remove spoiled food from refrigerator and wipe spills
- Prepare meals
- Wash client’s laundry either at home or laundromat
- Light ironing and simple mending
- Make lists of needed supplies
- Go shopping and run errands
Additional skills and duties required:
- Ability to adjust to a wide range of family situations
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with others
- Ability to keep records and prepare simple reports
- Good judgment; tact; courtesy
- Does related work as necessary
- When schedule allows assists in kitchen
- When schedule allows cleans bathrooms in Sr. Center & Trailer
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, and the annual rate of pay is $49,982.82 with benefits, including paid vacation, enrollment in the New York State and Local Retirement system and health care and dental and vision coverage.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT At the time of appointment and during employment in this title, employees must possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State.
