The Director of Marketing & Content plays a pivotal role in driving EHCEC’s brand growth, engagement, and funding opportunities through a data-driven, high-impact marketing strategy. This role will ensure EHCEC remains impossible to ignore by strengthening its brand presence, attracting funding partners, and positioning the organization as a regional leader in economic development, digital equity, and community transformation.
This isn’t just about content creation—it’s about strategic leadership, audience engagement, and results-driven storytelling.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Building a Best-in-Class Marketing Strategy

  • Develop and execute a data-driven marketing strategy that increases EHCEC’s brand awareness by at least 30% and attracts at least three new funding partners annually.

  • Align marketing initiatives with fundraising, donor acquisition, and corporate partnership strategies to help generate $3,000,000.

Maximizing HubSpot for Growth

  • Leverage HubSpot automation to improve donor engagement, increase lead conversion rates by 30%, and optimize campaign performance.

  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement at least one data-driven improvement per month to enhance marketing performance based on the analysis.

Creating High-Impact Content that Drives Action

  • Develop and execute a multi-channel content strategy (digital, print, social, video) that increases social media engagement by 25% and strengthens EHCEC’s storytelling.

  • Deliver a quarterly content calendar and launch at least one high-performing engagement campaign per quarter.

Strengthening EHCEC’s Brand & Public Presence

  • Ensure 100% completion of a brand messaging audit, with at least 90% of content and communication materials updated to reflect a cohesive, mission-driven brand identity.

  • Act as the editor-in-chief for all content, ensuring clarity, consistency, and quality.

  • Build and manage 7 relationships with press, media outlets, and external stakeholders to elevate EHCEC’s visibility.

Leading & Building a High-Performing Marketing Function

  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing marketing team, ensuring clear accountability and 100% execution of strategic initiatives.

  • Create 1 dashboard to track performance metrics and OKRs measuring marketing effectiveness, team productivity, and ROI.

  • Contribute to a 15% increase in fundraising revenue through marketing-driven donor and corporate engagement strategies.

What You Bring

Demonstrated experience in marketing, content strategy, or digital communications—with a proven track record of driving growth.
Deep expertise in HubSpot (required)—including CRM, automation, email marketing, landing pages, and analytics.
Strong knowledge of Google Suite, Canva, and other marketing tools—to support diverse campaign needs.
Proven ability to develop and execute high-impact marketing campaigns—that drive donor and corporate engagement.
Experience managing paid and organic digital marketing efforts—including SEO, social media, and PPC.
Exceptional writing, storytelling, and brand development skills—with the ability to create compelling content for various audiences.
Highly analytical—with experience measuring marketing performance and optimizing campaigns based on data.
Experience leading teams and managing external partners, agencies, or consultants—to ensure successful project execution.

What Success Looks Like

First 30 Days – Learning & Orientation

  • Immerse in EHCEC's mission, values, and brand positioning to align marketing efforts with organizational goals.

  • Conduct a full marketing and content audit of digital platforms, collateral, campaigns, and HubSpot usage and Deliver a comprehensive audit report with findings with at least 5 recommendations.

  • Assess and document baseline performance metrics for brand awareness, donor engagement, and lead conversions and establish benchmarks for 5 core KPIs.

  • Review and evaluate HubSpot setup and usage, including automation workflows, segmentation, and reporting and identify 3 HubSpot workflows needing improvement.

First 60 Days – Execution & Contribution

  • Launch the first multi-channel engagement campaign using refined messaging and visual assets to achieve a 15% increase in campaign engagement compared to baseline.

  • Optimize 3 priority HubSpot workflows for lead nurturing, donor engagement, or event follow-up to improve lead conversion rate by at least 10% from optimized workflows.

  • Roll out a new monthly content calendar across digital and print channels with mission-aligned storytelling to publish at least 4 pieces of original content (blogs, emails, posts, or videos) within 30 days.

  • Build initial media and visibility relationships by reaching out to key press contacts and partners to secure at least 2 new media or PR opportunities (interviews, feature stories, or event invites).

First 90 Days – Ownership & Strategic Impact

  • Execute a second, data-informed marketing campaign designed to drive donor or partner engagement increasing donor conversion by 20% and engagement by 25% compared to initial campaign.

  • Complete and launch the brand messaging guide to unify all content and public-facing communications to ensure 90% of marketing materials and team messaging aligned with refreshed brand voice.

  • Create a live marketing dashboard to monitor key metrics like engagement, traffic, donor actions, and ROI.

  • Deliver and present a 12-month strategic marketing roadmap with quarterly campaign plans and growth targets.
