East Haven is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. As a Wound Care RN, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing wound care treatments for our patients. This role requires excellent clinical skills, strong attention to detail, and a passion for improving patient outcomes. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment alongside interdisciplinary teams to provide exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assess patients' wounds and skin integrity, developing individualized care plans.
- Provide direct wound care, including dressing changes, debridement, and wound cleansing.
- Monitor and evaluate wound healing progress, adjusting care plans as needed.
- Educate patients, families, and staff on proper wound care techniques and prevention strategies.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Document all wound care interventions and patient responses in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to wound care.
- Stay current with best practices and new advancements in wound care treatments.
- Provide mentorship and training to staff members on wound care protocols.
