The West Chester Area School District has the following School Psychologist position available at the secondary level (certification requirement – appropriate valid PA certification):
1.0 LTS- School Psychologist - East High School
To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary. The School Psychologist works cooperatively with other administrators, supervisors, staff, parents/guardians and students to assess the learning, social and emotional needs of referred students who are experiencing difficulty in school, and to assist in the development of interventions to facilitate academic success and positive school functioning. Minimum requirements are:
- Master's degree with valid PA certification: License preferred
- Proficiency in the use of technology for individual communication and research
- Proficiency in presentation of technology to enhance small and large student group or staff information and demonstration sessions
- Possess effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface diplomatically with other teachers, administrators, parents, students, support staff and outside professional contacts
*Candidates who do not have their PA teaching certificate must have the College Verification of Eligibility Letter which states that you have successfully completed the program and are eligible for certification.
