Job Description:
Weatherford Public Schools is seeking a compassionate, student-centered Guidance Counselor for East Intermediate School (Grades 5-6). The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students while collaborating with staff, families, and the community.
Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in School Counseling or related field is preferred

Oklahoma School Counselor Certification with appropriate endorsement (preferred)

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and student needs

Experience working with upper elementary or middle school students preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
-
Provide individual and group counseling for students in grades 5 and 6

Support students’ academic, career, and personal/social development
-
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to identify and address student needs

Coordinate and implement guidance curriculum and SEL programming
-
Assist with conflict resolution, behavior interventions, and crisis response
-
Maintain confidentiality and ethical practices in alignment with state and district policies

Participate in IEP and 504 meetings as needed

Based on Weatherford Public Schools Certified Salary Schedule and years of experience
