School Bus Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience driving school buses or similar vehicles, with a strong focus on safety and customer service. This role involves transporting children and seniors, ensuring their safety, and providing an educational and supportive environment during transit.

Duties

• Report to Supervisor before each run.
• Safely operate a bus according to established routes and schedules.
• Ensure the safety of all passengers, including children and seniors, during transit.
• Communicate effectively with passengers, parents, and school officials.
• Educate passengers on safety procedures and bus rules.
• Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure the mechanical soundness of the vehicle.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bus interior.
• Assist passengers with special needs or mobility challenges as required.
• Report any mechanical issues or incidents to management promptly.

Requirements

• Proven experience in bus driving, particularly with school buses or paratransit vehicles.
• Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance checks on the vehicle.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, seniors, and other stakeholders.
• Experience working with children or in senior care settings is preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings as required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $21.95 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
