- Lesson Planning & Delivery:
- Develop and implement creative, engaging, and innovative art lessons that align with Catholic teachings and foster artistic expression in students
- Lessons will integrate Catholic teaching and inspire students to see the beauty of creation in all forms of art
- Incorporate at an age-appropriate level the Catholic understanding of beauty as an objective transcendental quality present in all creation sharing the three essential elements of integrity, proportion, and clarity
- Catholic Integration in Art:
- Create opportunities for students to explore how art and creativity support and reflect Catholic teachings, focusing on themes such as faith, beauty, charity, and the glory of God
- Art History Integration:
- Teach art history in a way that highlights Catholic heritage, including the role of art in the Church, from the Middle Ages to contemporary times
- Focus on the height of Catholic Art in through the 18th century in painting, sculpture and architecture
- Introduce students to renowned Catholic artists, sacred art, and artistic periods that supported the Church's mission
- Classroom Organization & Order:
- Maintain an organized, clean, and well-structured art classroom environment that supports creative work while ensuring safety and order
- Ensure students understand the importance of responsibility and respect for art materials and shared space
- Display classic Catholic artwork in our Art Room which is beautiful and inspires students to love and practice the Catholic faith
- Student Engagement & Creativity:
- Encourage and support each student's creative potential, providing an environment where all students feel encouraged to explore and develop their artistic talents
- Help students build confidence in their abilities and express themselves through their work
- Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Work closely with other teachers and staff to integrate art across the curriculum, collaborating on cross-curricular projects that enrich students' learning experiences
- Participate in school-wide events and projects, fostering a sense of community within the school
- Assessment & Feedback:
- Provide regular, constructive feedback on student work, helping students understand their progress and areas for improvement
- Adapt instruction based on individual student needs and abilities
- Provide communication with parents on student progress
- Flexible & Open-Minded:
- Be adaptable in teaching methods, adjusting lesson plans and classroom management strategies to meet the needs of students with different learning styles

- Professional Development:

- Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or related field.
- State certification or eligibility for certification in Art Education (preferred).
- Strong understanding of Catholic teachings and a commitment to integrating the teachings into the classroom.
- Proven ability to teach a diverse group of students with varying levels of skill and experience.
- Strong organizational and classroom management skills.
- Experience with lesson planning, student assessment, and use of educational technology.
- A creative and innovative approach to teaching art.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
- Experience in a Catholic educational setting is preferred.
