Teacher/ Student Achievement Specialist -East Middle School for the 2025-26 School Year
Reports to: Building Principal
Qualifications: Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate
Preferred: Administrative Cert. or Seeking Administrative Cert.
Job Goal: Provide coaching to teachers; Assist with making PLCs more efficient and effective; Coordinate state testing; Communicate with parents; Manage data; Tutor kids during Advisory RTI
Shift Type: Full-time
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work directly with site principals to fully understand and mold the school’s vision for school improvement.
- Work directly with site principals to identify teaching areas of concern and brainstorm how to target these areas.
- Become knowledgeable in Robert Marzano’s research on teaching and learning and the components, principles, and framework of Dr. Jim Knight’s Partnership Learning Instructional Coaching Process.
- Partner with teachers in planning and implementation of instructional methods and strategies using Marzano to ensure student learning of Oklahoma Academic Standards.
- Keep abreast of research in the areas of student learning and instruction.
- Encourage and support teachers’ reflection of their classroom practices.
- Be skillful in providing effective feedback to meet the needs of individual teachers.
- Model lessons or parts of lessons based on research-based best practices for probationary and career teachers.
- Observe teachers to provide suggestions for task analysis of lesson design to break down teaching practices into manageable components.
- Assist teachers in developing and implementing effective, research-based classroom management techniques.
- Attend all required district curriculum and instruction meetings.
- Attend all site, district, and state training related to coaching, instruction, curriculum, and/or assessment
- Meet district and site staff development requirements.
- Assist in the selection and adoption of new instructional materials, methods, and programs.
- Provide resources for site Professional Learning Communities.
- Assist Professional Learning Communities in achieving goals, curriculum mapping, creating pacing guides, data collection and data disaggregation to inform decision making.
- Coordinate state testing, attending all required meetings.
- Managing IXL and state testing data and working directly with the principals to make data-informed decisions.
- Make phone calls home to parents whose students are struggling with attendance, documenting the phone calls, and creating actions steps to help students have better attendance.
- Use available data to determine RTI pull outs, using advisory time to tutor these students.
- Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign.
