What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Education Assessment Manager position at East Mississippi Community College?
Responsible for administering AE testing services within the EMCC district.
1. Designs, manages, and oversees a high-quality testing program that ensures access for all qualified candidates and ensures the integrity of the tests and their administration;
2. Control testing sessions by following all Educational Testing Service and Pearson Vue policies and procedures for conducting a testing session under standard conditions or with accommodations for candidates with disabilities.
3. Completes GED Examiners’ training and participates in all required Examiner training sessions and in other professional development activities as assigned;
4. Complies with all jurisdictional policies and procedures and adheres to all policies in the GED Testing Service Policies and Procedures Manual and any supplemental memoranda from the GED Testing Service and State GED Administrator;
5. Supervises all GED Proctors and GED testing staff;
6. Provides training for all GED Proctors prior to testing and ensures that all staff members under his/her supervision follow all GED and EMCC policies and procedures;
7. Provides GED Options testing services as stipulated by the State GED Administrator;
8. Develops a written GED-specific emergency plan and trains all GED testing staff in the implementation;
9. Maintains the security of all testing materials by preparing a written inventory of all secure testing materials used during each test administration (or monthly if tests are not in use) and maintains in the permanent secure storage area inventory documentation including appropriate surveillance logs, seating charts, and irregularity reports;
10. Conducts GED registration/orientation sessions;
11. Makes information about accommodations available, provides appropriate accommodations forms to candidates upon request, submits completed forms to the State GED Administrator for approval, and conducts special accommodations testing according to approved recommendation(s);
12. Prepares and submits requisitions for GED-related expenses and confirms accuracy of invoices;
13. Maintains a neat, professional testing environment and notifies supervisor(s) of any irregularities that occur during test administration;
14. Scans/Scores answer sheets or mails them to the appropriate scoring service in a timely fashion and maintains and updates scoring hardware and associated software;
15. Responds to communications and queries in a timely fashion;
16. Assists in organizing and planning GED awards ceremonies;
17. Assists with participant intakes, TABE testing and new student orientation;
18. Assists with ACT WorkKeys testing;
19. Willingness to work flexible schedule on occasions including nights and weekends;
20. Effectively communicates with, cooperates with, and supports other college personnel in daily activities;
21. Participates in minimum fifteen hours of AE-approved professional development;
22. Participates in EMCC and divisional staff meetings;
23. Assists with and fulfills other duties as assigned by the AE Director
Education: Bachelor’s degree, required
Skills: Excellent computer, organizational, verbal, and written skills.
Work Experience include required number of years documented experience in a comparable/related position: 2 years of relevant work experience required
