Assistant General Manager ENBW - Wilson County Taproom – Position Description
High Level Goals
1. Generate and grow sales and revenue in the taproom through managing customer events, as well as East Nashville Beer Works of Lebanon’s planned and organized events.
2. Bar Staff Management – Assisting the GM in managing the taproom staff. Ensure cleanliness to the utmost, open and close checklist is being knocked out every single day, and all taproom tasks are being completed. Scheduling the bar staff and keeping track of our full calendar
3. Vendor Management – Handling all taproom vendors such as Vestis (bar rags and mats), cleaning company, distributors, maintenance vendors, and everything taproom related.
4. Customer Satisfaction - Ensure all guests are taken care of and have a great time at ENBW. Push loyalty program and beer club, and drive opportunities for more engagement with customers.
Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and supervise taproom staff, ensuring a high level of service and product knowledge.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development among staff. Ensure bartenders are doing all of their check list items thoroughly every single day.
2. Customer Experience:
- Oversee day-to-day taproom operations to ensure an outstanding customer experience.
- Address customer feedback, concerns, and inquiries promptly and professionally.
3. Sales and Promotions:
- Develop and implement strategies to drive taproom sales, including promotions, events, and collaborations. Some help with social media content as well.
- Monitor inventory levels and work closely with the brewing team to ensure a well-stocked and diverse selection of beers as well as monitor and report on inventory for liquor and wine sales
4. Event Management:
- Plan and execute events within the taproom, including but not limited to beer releases, live music, and community engagements. Large annual events such as Augustfest (our anniversary) and Noon Year’s Eve
- Collaborate with marketing staff to promote events and attract a diverse audience. Create new events with marketing personnel to fill in the gaps (i.e. we’ve never done an Octoberfest party)
5. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant licensing, health, and safety regulations.
- Implement and maintain operational procedures to uphold a safe and secure environment for both staff and patrons.
6. Financial Management:
- Assist GM with managing budgets, track financial performance, and implement cost-control measures to achieve financial targets. Deal with cash flow in and out of taproom.
- Assist GM in regular reports on sales, expenses, and key performance indicators.
7. Community Engagement:
- Cultivate positive relationships with the local community, neighboring businesses, and organizations.
- Seek opportunities for partnerships and collaborations that enhance the brewery’s presence in the community. Work with vendors that we use, bring in markets, drive taproom traffic in creative ways.
8. Other:
· Small ops work like grabbing propane, bank funds for taproom staff, returning phone calls and emails from customers, adding beers and food items into our POS Toast
· Help work with brewery facility management and owner on taproom maintenance, and coordination of those efforts, taproom cleaning, and any needed improvements
· Ordering – Grabbing cider from Diskin, ordering from Lipman, Ajax, and other distributors
· Opening and closing registers, ensuring fairness of tip pool, becoming an expert in Toast, our POS
· Enforcing any and all ENBW employee policies
What we are looking for:
Schedule is almost entirely evening and weekends. If you do not want to work nights and weekends, DO NOT APPLY. Our candidate should have proven experience in a leadership role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a craft brewery or taproom setting. Strong understanding of craft beer and the ability to convey knowledge to staff and customers.
· Must have ABC license and ability to pour and serve behind the bar
· Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to handle a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency in point-of-sale systems (Major Bonus for Toast proficiency) and basic computer skills.
· Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
· A minimum of 1-2 years as a customer-facing manager or bar lead in craft beverage establishment
· Preferred experience in working in various other restaurant roles as a server, host, bartender, etc. but willing to learn a new system
· Must be willing to correct staff members and ensure standards are being met. Must be willing to terminate employees as needed.
· Knowledge of craft beer and/or serious interest in understanding craft beer styles and the industry
· Self-motivated and exhibiting an aptitude for leading, coaching, and driving excellence
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and calmly react to and handle stressful situations and customer complaints
· Not be “above” any work. If tables need wiping, wipe tables. Clean the bathroom. Never be unwilling to do anything others are willing to do.
COMPENSATION
- $50,000
