Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and personable Dental Front Desk/ Patient Coordinator to join our team. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive experience from the moment they walk through the door. Your responsibilities will include managing patient appointments, handling inquiries, coordinating treatment schedules, and maintaining efficient office operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Interaction:
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and ensure they feel welcomed and comfortable.
- Manage patient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.
- Address patient inquiries in person, over the phone, and via email with professionalism and courtesy.
- Appointment Management:
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments, optimizing the provider's schedule for efficiency.
- Coordinate with dental assistants, hygienists, and dentists to manage daily patient flow and minimize wait times.
- Handle cancellations and fill open appointment slots to maximize the schedule.
- Insurance and Billing:
- Verify patient insurance information and benefits prior to appointments.
- Assist patients with understanding their insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs.
- Process payments, issue receipts, and assist with billing inquiries as needed.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including contact information, medical history, and treatment plans.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare and organize charts for upcoming appointments.
- Communication:
- Serve as a liaison between patients and clinical staff to relay information, updates, and special requests.
- Communicate any changes in patient schedules or treatment plans to the appropriate team members.
- Provide patients with pre- and post-treatment instructions as directed by the clinical team.
- Office Administration:
- Monitor and order office supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized front desk and waiting area.
- Support the office manager and other team members with administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a dental required.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a customer-service-oriented mindset.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with dental practice management software Eaglesoft is a plus.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in dental administration is advantageous.
