Overview:
East Penn is currently seeking a Sales Manager who will be responsible for leading and overseeing a sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets by driving revenue through building client and potential client relationships. They will also manage large accounts to ensure that the customer’s needs are being met and continued business development is taking place.
Internal Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage, coach and train the sales team so they can maximize their potential
- Develops Annual Sales Plan to be reviewed quarterly with the sales team for their specific territory
- Develops marketing strategies and initiatives to maximize sales and profits for the company and ensuring sales goals are met
- Reviews territory sales reps Annual Sales Plan quarterly for actions and follow through
- Performs competitor analysis that identifies, tracks, and analyzes competitor's strength and weaknesses to assist in developing sales strategies which will be used to assist in sales growth
- Approves expense reports as well as weekly sales call activity for those you manage
- Communicates regularly with direct reports to ensure all accounts are being managed to expectations
- Jointly develop Annual Business Plan including sales goals for large accounts and direct reports
- Conducts/Coordinates customer and prospect onsite visits including but not limited to plant tours and business meetings
- Coordinates with other departments to ensure the highest level of customer service
- Submits sales reports, weekly activity reports, trip reports, and expense reports within the assigned time frames
- Review and manage SalesForce activity with sales group and branch
- Exhibit motivation and commitment to effectively meet goals and deadlines as established by management
- Serve as the first point of contact for all large customer inquiries and handle them accordingly
- Assist in the managing of the Motive Power Sales Trainee program
External Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees or directly manages sales team assigned to accounts
- Conducts regular sales calls with territory sales reps to develop and maintain relationships, present products, and review program and service capabilities
- Conduct quarterly sales meetings with sales team
- Executes all sales, marketing and training activities on assigned accounts to achieve specific goals and objectives
- Provides technical information on products
- Conducts battery clinics or other customer training as required
- Works with accounts to develop potential new target accounts or new product opportunities to increase sales
- Conducts prospecting activities to target new business and/or increase existing business
- Attend customer events (Open houses, outings, conferences, training seminars, etc.)
- Attend trade shows as needed
- Continue to develop the account base and profit margins
- Resolve customer issues and provide outstanding customer relations
- 3 years of territory sales experience in the battery / material handling market, (or similar), required
- Demonstrated competency in product, application, industry, and competition
- Outgoing personality, engaging disposition, and ethical character are essential

Education/Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or other related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered
- Clean and Valid Drivers License and driving history is needed
