Title: Policy & Strategy Summer Associate
The Policy & Strategy Summer Associate is responsible for helping to track and analyze East Point’s state, regional, and federal policy priorities. The Summer Associate will assist in developing and coordinating the company’s comments and testimony on legislative and regulatory matters, as well as assist on advocacy strategy and execution in key markets. Additionally, the Summer Associate will help coordinate strategy efforts across all East Point business units.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Track and analyze policy priorities to support East Point’s energy storage goals on three fronts:
o Federal: trade, tariffs, IRA, ITC, FERC/NERC, etc.
o State: revenue, permitting reform, and taxes
o ISO/RTOs: market and interconnection queue design and reforms
- Assess the impact of prospective legislative and regulatory policies on the company’s business and synthesize and coordinate with the project development, business development, EPC, asset management, and accounting teams
- Develop advocacy strategies for specific policy goals
- Write legislative and regulatory comments, testimony, public-facing statements positioning East Point as a leader in the energy storage space
- Help align East Point’s business unit strategies with East Point’s and Equinor’s overall corporate strategies
- Independent research topic – presented to company in August
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned
Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, One Drive, etc.)
- Strong communication skills - written, verbal, and non-verbal

Education & Experience:
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a degree program
- Preference for candidate with prior government, political campaign, and/or coalition building experience
Time Commitment/Travel/Other:
- Paid; up to 40 hours/week during our regular hours of operation, 8:30AM - 5PM (30 min lunch)
- 10-12 weeks (June-August), based on candidate availability. Preference for longer commitments
