What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dance Team (Pom Pon) Coach position at East Porter County School Corporation?
Number of students required to fill position: 12 (grades 9-12)
Per school year, number of activities:
- Participation in at least one out of school event (i.e. popcorn parade)
- Practices will be held 3-4 hours per week from August through March
- Participation in All Star practices for the students sent from each school (coach does not have to attend unless she has volunteered to be the host location)
- Perform at half time for all home boys’ basketball games and PCC game. Squad can leave 5 minutes before half time to prepare for the half time performance. When done, squad will sit in cheer block for the remainder of the game.
Per school year, required responsibilities:
- Host summer camp
- Arrange for tryout practices
- Attend PCC game (only away game)
- Host minicamp clinic for middle school girls
- Order uniforms and shirts for girls on the squad with athletic directors or principals approval
- Create music mixes if Pom Pom squad does not do it
- Ensure costumes, music selection, and routines are school appropriate. Sponsor should obtain the approval of the athletic director or principal.
Attend all boys basketball JV and Varsity home games (and PCC away games) and sit in cheer block with squad for both games. Ensure squad comes to games ready to perform
