Work Year: 12 month position (260 days)
Reports To: Co-Directors of Technology
Position Overview
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and configuration of information systems and related technology assets within the East Providence School District (EPSD). Working as a part of the Technology team, this position will provide daily support and training to staff to ensure that information systems are functioning properly, and support processes are being adhered to. Ability to work with EPSD CTC interns and provide them with guidance on their work.
Responsibilities:
Participate in desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
Responsible for the maintenance, and general support tasks of devices
Support of end user workstations running Windows and MacOS operating systems through Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms
Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, completing tasks as assigned, and assessing impact of issues
Perform basic duties within Student Information System (Skyward) and other online applications
Perform other duties and reports as assigned by the Co - Directors of Technology
Responsible for participating in assuring information security and managing risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of sensitive staff/student data in compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, CIPA, COPPA.
Visit schools to perform on site support duties as needed and as assigned through the ticketing system
Qualifications:
1 years of relevant experience including (but not limited to) combination of degree, certification and/or experience in Computer Science, Technology, Data management, or AV support
Detail oriented, excellent interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
Experience with Dante a plus
Experience with Ed Tech a plus
Experience with Intune a plus

Lifting may involve periodic moving/lifting of heavy items exceeding 30 lbs. Extraneous situations may arise for which additional physical demands may be required

It is anticipated that stress will occasionally be associated with this position primarily due to the demands of this position. It is necessary that the individual have the capacity to remain calm, considerate, and tactful under stressful and unanticipated situations.
District employees must drive to school sites regularly throughout the workday.
A valid US license and a clean driving record are required.
Employees utilizing personal vehicles are offered reimbursement for mileage based on US per-diem rate
