Class Title: Lunch/Recess Attendant, Part-time 3 hours per day
Classification: One-hundred eighty-one (181) days.

CLASS DESCRIPTION
The Lunch Recess Attendant shall assist the school Principal, and/or their designee in carrying out his/her responsibilities by acting as lunch assistants, recess assistants, and all other tasks and duties assigned by the principal, and/or their designee that support the building’s educational purpose or otherwise improves the learning environment. This position is 3 hours per day.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.He/she shall act as an assistant to the school Principal in the general supervision of the lunch program.
2.He/she shall supervise children in the lunchroom, assisting custodian with wiping down tables after each class.
3.Supervise students in the school yard, or in the classroom for recess on inclement weather no more than 20 minutes.
4.He/she shall perform clerical tasks assigned by the Principal and or their designee so long as they are not exclusively within the job description of the administrative assistant, (i.e. calling parents, typing letters, and filing confidential documents will not be allowed.
5.Maintain confidentiality regarding all students.
6.During recess/lunch duty he/she must remain with assigned class. In case of emergency use a walkie-talkie to notify the office.
7.He/she shall perform all other tasks assigned by the principal and or their designee that support the building’s educational purpose or otherwise improves the learning environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•High School diploma or GED
•Ability to work well with children with disabilities.
•Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
•Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
•Good organizational skills
•Teacher Assistant Certification, preferred
