Position Title: Assisted Living LPN
Overview: The Staff Nurse is responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of all nursing care prescribed and provided to Assisted Living residents.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Provides services in accordance with Nurse Practice Act and state/federal nursing center regulations.
- Assists certified nursing assistants and resident care assistants with the medical needs of residents.
- Participates in admissions, evaluations, and care plans for prospective and current residents.
- Reviews and make changes to MOR monthly. MOR must be submitted prior to the beginning of each month.
- Assists residents in scheduling medical, dental, and laboratory appointments.
- Assist physicians with completing resident examination as needed. Follows physician's orders (e.g. medical treatments) and adds to resident’s chart. Medical treatments must be ordered on time.
- Observes residents and reports any changes in condition to physicians, health care proxies, and supervisors.
- Administers and documents medications in accordance with the five rights: right medication, right route, right resident, right time, and right dose. Supervises and monitors medications for residents who self-administer.
- Understands the resident’s Advance Directives and follows their wishes.
- Assists residents with meeting their nutritional/hydration needs and documents on the nursing record appropriately. Monitors mealtime and assists with feeding.
- Monitors urine retention and assists residents with self-catheterization. Monitors and change foley and colostomy bags as needed.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly environment for residents.
- Answers residents call light promptly (within 7-10 minutes).
- Maintains harmonious relations and communicates with family, visitors, and all members of the Health Team.
- Participates in the education of staff, residents, and family members.

You Have:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current license in the state of Florida.
- Current CPR certification.
- Minimum of one year of Geriatric nursing background.
