Schedule hours: Wednesday through Sunday from 8:30am to 5:00pm
Position Title: EVS Team Lead
Overview: The Environmental Services Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the work activities of staff to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe environment for our residents. This will include assigning duties, inspecting rooms, maintaining work orders and supplies, and training of new employees. The Team Lead will assist in the EVS office as needed and serves as the backup to the EVS Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Reviews and ensures that housekeepers are completing the daily checklist for Skilled Nursing areas.
- Maintains calendars for all areas and ensures that housekeepers and porters are following the schedule and/or completing tasks.
- Completes checklist for carpets and high touch areas (e.g. window ledges, door frames) throughout the facility.
- Organizes supply inventory in Maintenance and Three Palms. Works with the EVS Manager to complete inventory and order supplies the last week of each month.
- Maintains linen inventory and ensures that linen is being processed, on carts, and available in departments.
- Logs and updates linen requests from residents.
- Reviews and assigns work orders to staff on a daily basis. Verifies that work orders are completed.
- Checks emails daily to respond to work orders and communicate with residents, staff, and the EVS Manager.
- Trains new staff and completes training checklist. Trains current staff as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of environmental services experience required.
- Prior experience in a retirement community or healthcare facility preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of floor equipment, carpet care, chemical use, and laundry equipment.
- Knowledge of housekeeping and infection control procedures.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels in a professional manner.
- Good oral and written communications skills.
- Comfortable addressing older adults.
- Self-starter, attentive to detail and possess excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate others and build teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
