About the Company:We are a high-volume, fast-paced, family-owned and operated automotive repair shop specializing in both commercial and light-duty vehicles. Our team is looking for a skilled and experienced Service Manager to lead the shop operations and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Job Description:As the Service Manager, you will oversee day-to-day operations of the service department, manage a team of technicians, and ensure timely, high-quality repairs. Your role will include managing customer relations, scheduling, inventory management, and driving overall productivity. We are looking for a motivated individual with a strong background in automotive repair, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee and manage the service department's operations to ensure smooth workflow.
· Manage a team of automotive technicians, ensuring they meet productivity and quality standards.
· Coordinate service schedules for commercial and light-duty vehicles.
· Develop and implement customer service strategies to maintain high customer satisfaction.
· Handle customer inquiries, estimate repair costs, and ensure all necessary approvals are obtained.
· Monitor inventory levels, order parts, and ensure adequate stock for repairs.
· Track repair progress and maintain clear communication with customers.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and shop policies.
· Train and mentor technicians to improve skills and performance.
Qualifications:
· At least 5 years of experience in automotive repair, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
· In-depth knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures, particularly for commercial and light-duty vehicles.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
· Excellent customer service and communication skills.
· Ability to manage service scheduling, work orders, and shop workflow efficiently.
· Familiarity with shop management software and repair tracking systems.
· MUST BE WELL VERSED WITH COMPUTERS!
· Valid driver’s license; ASE certifications are a plus.
