East Side House, founded in 1891, is a 501(c) (3) organization that has served the South Bronx since 1963. The organization is dedicated to the community and focused on providing resources and opportunities. East Side House has identified that education is the foundation for economic improvement. Its youth education and technology programs teach skills to allow its students and clients to become more self-sufficient and independent. As a community resource, the organization also provides services to families and a growing senior population. In 2020 the organization began food distribution as an additional way to provide economic support to the community we serve.
Primary Functions
Duties include, but are not limited to the following key activities:
Under the supervision of the Director of Technology, the IT System Administrator is expected to provide technical support for the agency in a satisfactory manner.
This individual, in collaboration with the Director of IT, supports the agency’s PC workstations, printers, copiers, scanners, servers, and phones. Responsibilities include assisting with cabling and rewiring as needed, performing regular system maintenance, software upgrades, and data backups.
Must possess knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Office 365, TCP/IP, networking, switches, and routers.
Monitor system performance and ensure optimal functionality.
Set up new user accounts and manage Active Directory administration.
Troubleshoot technical issues related to hardware, software, and connectivity.
Build and configure computers; install software and updates.
Install and configure network printers and scanners.
Create and maintain tickets and documentation for all technical issues and resolutions.
Set up and configure VOIP phones, email accounts, Smartboards, and projectors.
Run RJ45 and RJ11 cables as needed.
Provide on-site technical support at remote locations, which involves local travel and walking between sites.
The ideal candidate must be patient, friendly, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, interacting with staff across the agency.

Business casual. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines

Travel
Site Visits to various programs in the Bronx and Manhattan.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, from 9am to 5pm. On occasion work on weekends or after work hours for large maintenance projects or during special events. Workdays/hours subject to change based on ESH’s needs.
Requisite Education and Experience
IT or Computing Studies or Information Systems
High-level problem-solving skills
Analytical and critical thinking capabilities
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
At least two year of experience with computer/software installation.
Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and willing to
