Description
The Caregiving Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating services that support caregivers, which are essential in helping older adults with chronic conditions or memory loss remain in their communities. This role also includes planning and facilitating a weekly group respite program to provide social, physical, and emotional engagement for care recipients while offering support to caregivers. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of caregivers and older adults, fostering a supportive community through respite, counseling and engagement initiatives.
The Caregiving Services Coordinator is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Collaborate with the Vital Living Program Manager to assess participant eligibility for respite programs, administer the enrollment process, and conduct Rapid Screens.

Facilitate weekly support group

Plan and facilitate quarterly caregiver trainings in collaboration with the Vital Living Program Manager

Plan and facilitate engaging activities for a 3-hour weekly respite program, ensuring a supportive and enriching experience for participants.

Train volunteers of all ages with Vital Living Program Manager to support caregiving programs, including the weekly respite program.

Serve as a resource for caregivers by providing information about services, technology, and other relevant support tailored to their needs.

Attend Caregiver Support Training workshops (online or in-person) as required by grant funders to enhance knowledge and program effectiveness.

Publish monthly caregiver newsletter

Maintain accurate service data for reporting requirements related to grant funding.
Additional as needed duties:

Conduct outreach efforts to promote caregiver services and other Vital Living programs, increasing awareness and participation.

Develop and strengthen partnerships with community organizations to identify and connect with individuals who could benefit from caregiver support services.
Qualifications
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

Minimum of three years of experience working with older adults.

Experience working in an intergenerational community setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proven ability to manage projects and develop partnerships effectively.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across diverse ethnic, racial, and economic backgrounds to foster trust and engagement. Fluency in English required
Working Conditions:

This position offers a hybrid opportunity to work from home 60-70% of the week, Fridays in office and 1 Saturday per month required. Must have the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
