East Stroudsburg University is hiring a Maintenance Repairman 2 (Plumbing)! Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESU’s proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provides convenient access to internships, careers and social activities. Just minutes from campus are the country’s largest water parks, scenic Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Appalachian Trail, and other opportunities for recreational fun.
As the Maintenance Repairman 2, you will need to think creatively and be comfortable maintaining various pieces of equipment around campus. You will be an active member of the Facilities Management team and will work closely with the Plumbing Maintenance Supervisor to make routine repairs, adjustments, service, cleaning and inspection of mechanical devices, plumbing and electrical devices, walls, doors, windows, and other campus facilities. To be successful in this role, you must be detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to solve problems.
Your normal hours will be Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 3:30 pm but you may have to flex your schedule from time to time based on the needs of the business to be a true Maintenance Repairman. What Will I Do At ESU? (AKA Essential Duties)
- Install, maintain and repair plumbing fixtures, valves, faucets, traps and other sanitary fixtures. Install fixtures, supports and hangers. Maintain steam lines, steam traps, steam heating, and cooking equipment.
- Maintain piping systems by opening clogged pipes and traps and repairing broken or leaking pipes.
- Install and maintain HVAC equipment, piping and electrical equipment
- Measure, cut, thread and install pipe for steam, natural gas and water lines.
- Make repairs and adjustments and perform oiling and greasing of equipment.
- Inspect, maintain, repair and/or replace heating system pumps, cooling system pumps, chemical feed pumps, condensation pumps and backflow valves.
- Comply with safety regulations and precautions for handling potential hazards of the trades.
- Perform lead work over helpers performing basic assignments.
- Use methods, materials, tools and practices of the mechanical trade.
- Perform related work as required.
What We're Looking For (AKA Qualifications)
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved the plumbing trade or any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.
- Able to read, write, and comprehend English; able to follow verbal instructions.
- Experience with Word, Excel, Teams required.
- Valid PA Driver’s License.
