Job Summary
The ETSU College of Nursing, Department of Student Services is currently seeking to fill a full-time permanent Academic Advisor position.
The Advisor reports to the Assistant Dean of Student Services and is responsible for the professional advisement of Health Professions / Nursing Interest (HPNU)) students enrolled at ETSU and for meeting with prospective nursing students as needed.
This position ensures that all undergraduate Health Professions / Nursing Interest (HPNU) students receive accurate and timely information regarding courses, admission requirements, and ETSU policies. The role involves diverse activities requiring analysis, judgment, and alignment with broad principles, practices, and professional standards. Work is guided by objectives and expected outcomes with limited supervision, with complex or new issues referred to a higher level. The Advisor analyzes student situations to identify areas of concern, referring students to appropriate resources for issues beyond their expertise, while ensuring compliance with applicable policies and procedures. Additional related duties are performed as assigned.
