Job Title PRN Patient Care Representative (JCCHC Dental Clinic) Department Office of Practice Pay Grade 6 Job Category Temporary Job Summary

The ETSU College of Nursing, Office of Practice, is seeking a PRN Patient Care Representative for the Dental Clinic located at the Johnson City Community Health Center.

The Patient Care Representative will provide clerical support for the dental clinic, including :

  • Answering phone calls and assisting with phone requests and information.
  • Handling confidential medical records.
  • Bookkeeping and other financial transactions.
  • Handling money.
  • Ordering and maintaining office supplies.
  • Data input and calculations.
  • Assisting the Dental Clinic Manager and other professional staff with correspondence and record-keeping.
  • Facilitating communication between a limited English proficiency patient and the provider and staff.
  • Utilizing online computer systems such as Outlook and other hospital software.
  • Working with special projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to address concerns raised during or after an encounter by encouraging provider to make appropriate referral and / or assisting with making of appointment with right resource and booking interpreter as needed.
  • Organizational Skills :

  • Ability to work well under pressure to manage stressful situations.
  • Ability to be flexible to meet scheduling needs and handle often unpredictable changes.
  • Ability to use sound judgement and confidence.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to be detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of clerical, administrative and / or customer service work experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Eaglesoft or other electronic medical records system.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a healthcare office setting.
  • Dental experience.
  • Salary based on experience
