What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Representative position at East TN Ambulatory Surgical Center?
This position will require a capable and friendly front office assistance to work at our reception area. In this role, your duties will include maintaining the medical record while assisting in answering incoming calls, admissions of patients, welcoming visitors, and help support the daily functions of the Business Office.
HIPPA compliant at all times All medical record requests are to be fulfilled within 10 days of receipt Report to office manager any issues or questions of concern and/or other inquires for approval Handling of basic inquires and sorting mail
Other Duties and Responsibilities: Participate in opening/closing of the facility process when scheduled to work Prepare daily deposit slip and completes payment process of checks Address correspondence/questions by end of shift of receipt payments Maintains daily deposit log with accuracy Participates in Refund Process as being the data entry person for Advantx, confirming all documentation is present and filing the record of transaction Answer incoming patient calls aa well as screening and forwarding all other calls Back up the Front Desk Receptionist/ Patient Check in Assist with patient chart preparation when needed Assist other areas of the business office as necessary in a friendly and professional manner. All other functions as assigned by Manager Communicate effectively with peers, managers, and physicians
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATION and EDUCATIONAL AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent. Healthcare background preferred. One year of related billing experience and/or training preferably in an ASC setting, or Equivalent combination of education and experience. Accounting and math skills. Computer competency. Reasoning ability. Basic billing/coding knowledge.
