Clinical Assistant

This position is responsible for patient flow coordination. This includes rooming patients, obtaining information from patients, providing direct assistance to the physician in the exam room, and communicating with the patient and/or their care team via telephone.

These are the essential duties and responsibilities but are not limited to:

• Obtain history and chief complaint from patients
• Use EMR to document patient visits
• Remove postoperative dressings
• Consent patient for procedures
• Fit and/or remove DME products (boots, braces, etc.)
• Provide direct assistance to physician in exam rooms
• Radiology certified in lower extremity (preferred, or willing to receive)
• Knowledge and efficiency of electronic medical records
• Write, print or electronically file prescription requests
• Document and/or supply physician orders
• Use proper phone etiquette
• Coordinate patient check in/out
• Periodic satellite location travel (if needed)
• Provide instructions and answer patient questions
• Sterilize equipment
• ICD-10 knowledge (preferred)
• Respond to questions from patients and physicians
• Work efficiently and cooperatively with patients, physicians, and co-workers
• Audit and assist with exam room cleanliness
• Complete necessary paperwork for patients
• Verify insurance and complete prior authorization for outpatient procedures and/or DME
• Maintain OSHA guidelines
• Maintain compliance with personnel policies and procedures
• Punctual and reliable attendance
• Ensure work responsibilities are finished and/or covered when absent
• Other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
